In the 2023 World Cup contest on Tuesday, October 10, at Dharamsala’s Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, England’s Reece Topley emerged as a standout performer with the ball.
He delivered crucial early wickets, notably claiming the prized scalp of Shakib Al Hasan, causing Bangladesh to feel despondent. Shakib’s wicket fell in the sixth over of Bangladesh’s chase. Topley delivered an exceptional ball that caught Shakib off guard.
The left-arm fast bowler sent a delivery that straightened sufficiently to deceive Shakib’s forward stroke and hit the off-stump’s top, proving nearly impossible to play. This dismissal left Bangladesh struggling at 26/3 after 14.2 overs.
