The Pakistan cricket team, captained by Babar Azam, entered the match against Bangladesh requiring a victory to maintain their chances of reaching the semi-finals in the Cricket World Cup. And they successfully achieved this.
Pakistan’s cricket team ended their losing streak at the Cricket World Cup by defeating Bangladesh. They desperately needed this win to stay in the semi-final race. With a convincing seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh, led by Shakib Al Hasan, they now have six points from seven games.
To have a shot at the semi-finals, Pakistan must win their remaining matches against New Zealand and England, while also relying on other teams’ results. While bowling first, Pakistan limited Bangladesh to a mere 204 runs.
Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Wasim Jr took three wickets each, leading an impressive bowling performance. However, there was a humorous moment during the 43rd over. Shaheen Afridi delivered a ball down the leg side to Taskin Ahmed.
Pakistan broke their losing streak by defeating Bangladesh in the Cricket World Cup
It seemed to brush the batsman’s pads. Babar Azam, the captain, initially dismissed the wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan’s appeal for a DRS (Decision Review System). However, Rizwan was so eager that he even asked the batter where the ball had made contact.
Twitter users were genuinely surprised by the distinctive way the Pakistan wicket-keeper handled the situation.

Thanks to the strong performances of Fakhar Zaman, Abdullah Shafique, and the bowlers, Pakistan secured a 7-wicket win over Bangladesh in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens on Tuesday.
This impressive win put an end to Pakistan’s four-match losing streak in the current tournament, propelling them to the 5th position in the points table with 6 points.
Unfortunately, Bangladesh’s dream of reaching the ODI World Cup semifinals went unfulfilled.
Fakhar Zaman and Abdullah Shafique, Pakistan’s openers, contributed 81 and 68 runs, while Mohammad Rizwan scored an undefeated 26, leading their team to a 7-wicket victory. Mehidy Hasan Miraz took three wickets for Bangladesh.
While chasing a small score of 205, Pakistan’s opening batter, Fakhar Zaman, played exceptionally well during the initial phase. He hit four boundaries, including two impressive sixes against the bowlers Taskin Ahmed and Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
His partner, Abdullah Shafique, also performed solidly by scoring four boundaries in the first 10 overs.
