ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: [WATCH] Team India Arrive At Chennai Airport For The First Match

Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, Team India arrived in Chennai for the first World Cup match against Australia to be played on 8^th October 2023. Men in Blue would be high on confidence as they registered a thumping 2-1 series win over Australia.

KL Rahul captained the side in the first two ODI matches in Mohali and Indore before Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Siraj returned to playing XI for the third match in Rajkot.

The Indian Cricket Team warm-up matches against England and Netherlands were abandoned due to rain. It promises to be an exciting encounter against Australia at M Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on 8^th October.

Rohit Sharma and Co registered a thumping 10-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the finals of Asia Cup 2023 played in Colombo. Mohammed Siraj bowled a dream spell with figures of 6 for 21 including 4 wickets dismissing Pathum Nissanka, Sadeera Samawickrama, Charith Asalanaka, and Dhanajaya de Silva to put the Lankan team under immense pressure.

He then grabbed wickets of Dasun Shanaka and Kusal Mendis ending the hopes of the hosts. The last time Australia met India in Chennai in 2023, the Australian team registered a comfortable victory that helped them to win the series.

Australian team warm-up matches had some action as Mitchell Starc took a hattrick against Netherlands while Steve Smith scored valuable runs but the match ended in no result. The second warm-up match was a high high-scoring affair as Australia made 351 for 7 in 50 overs. Australia won the match by 14 runs as Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith and David Warner bowled most of the overs during yesterday’s match at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.

Team India Has A Good Chance of Winning the World Cup

The Indian Team would look to win their first ICC title after a gap of 10 years. Under the captaincy of MS Dhoni, Men in Blue defeated England winning the ICC Champions Trophy title.

Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, the Indian team would look to win the title after near misses since 2014. The Men in Blue have top-quality batters including Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya who can change the course of the game.

In the bowling department, Mohammed Shami, Mohammad Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah, and Shardul Thakur are four pace options while Jadeja, Ashwin, and Kuldeep Yadav comprise spinners that can trouble any opponent on their day.
