Team India will start their ICC T20 World Cup campaign against Pakistan on October 24. With the IPL drawing to a close, Venkatesh Iyer and Avesh Khan will be joining the Indian team as net bowlers after the tournament is over. Both the players have had notable performances in this year’s campaign. Later tonight KKR and Delhi Capitals take on each other in the second qualifier.
Avesh Khan is currently the second-highest wicket-taker in IPL 2021. The right arm pacer has scalped 23 wickets in the tournament this year and has picked them up at an average of 18.61. Iyer has scored 265 runs in the UAE leg of the tournament and has scored his runs at an average of 37.86. With the ball, Iyer has picked up 3 wickets. SRH pacer Umran Malik also has been asked to stay back in the UAE as well.

Meanwhile, Team India will play two warm-up games ahead of the start of their T20 World Cup campaign. They play against Australia on October 18 and against South Africa on October 20. India were the champions of the inaugural T20 World Cup back in 2007. They then made the final in 2014 and the semi-final in 2016.
Their warm-up game against England is cancelled. While the game against Australia will be an afternoon fixture, the game against South Africa will start at 7.30 pm IST.
