Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra believes Virat Kohli’s vast repertoire of shots makes him a better T20 player among the Fab fours. Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, Kane Williamson, and Joe Root have earned the tag of modern-day ‘Fab four’.
The Indian skipper has scored 3216 runs at an average of 52.72 in T20Is and is the leading run-scorer in the shortest format of the game. Aakash believes that Virat Kohli is a different class compared to Root, Smith, and Williamson.

In a video uploaded on the former cricketer’s YouTube Channel, he was asked why Virat Kohli is a more successful T20 player than others. Responding to the question, Aakash Chopra said:
“Virat Kohli is an all-format player. I feel Root can also be that. Virat Kohli as a batsman is more complete as compared to say a Kane Williamson and Steve Smith. No disrespect, but Kohli’s class is different.”
“The class is that you run your wagon at a speed of 15, 45, or 145. He is that kind of a player, one of its kind. Virat Kohli is the best all-format batsman in the world, there is no doubt about it,” he added.
Virat Kohli has all the strokes and a few more strokes: Aakash Chopra
Aakash Chopra highlighted that Virat Kohli has all the shots in his arsenal. He added that the right-hander can bat in different gears, as the situations demands. Aakash also believes Virat Kohli is a better 50-over player than Kane Williamson and Steve Smith. He said,
“I don’t see Steve Smith running that fast, it depends on which number you bat. You have to bat in the top three to be a king of T20s. Kohli does that and he has all the strokes, a few more strokes.”
“If you see Kane, he takes time. Virat can actually switch gears quite nicely, even in one day cricket Virat Kohli is way above Kane Williamson and Steve Smith,” Aakash Chopra concluded.
