England will face New Zealand in the first semi-final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 in Abu Dhabi on November 10. It will be a rematch of the 2019 World Cup final between both sides. Ahead of the game, Mark Wood wishes to steal some of Jasprit Bumrah’s superpowers. It would need a superheroic effort from both teams to beat each other and advance through to the final.
While New Zealand have never played a T20 World Cup final, England won the title back in 2010. In a fun video posted by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on social media handles, Wood took inspiration from the Hollywood movie ‘Space Jump’ and revealed how he would use a cricket ball to extract Bumrah’s “superpower”.
Wood was asked if he could steal a skill from a rival, then who would it be. The interviewer further asked, “How would you steal?” to which he replied, “I would probably get something like in the movie Space Jump. Instead of getting a basketball, I would get a cricket ball. Suck all the energy out of him and then I get the superpower.”

Mark Wood Signed As Tymal Mills Replacement
Mark Wood played the game against South Africa conceding 47 runs in his spell as England lost the game. However, it did not prove too much as the side was already through to the semifinals.
The pacer was roped into the side as a replacement for Tymal Mills who was ruled out of the T20 World Cup with a thigh strain injury.
“The biggest test this tournament has been against Sri Lanka, batting first and Jos Buttler rescued us from a hole. Had to bowl under the dew and we came out with flying colours. Today, there wasn’t as much pressure although it was a good test. Probably Jason will be assessed tomorrow. We do have a lot of depth, we’ve built a good white-ball group over the last few years, so really excited. Yes, really happy, we’ve topped the group and that’s never easy” said Eoin Morgan after England made it to the semis.
