The T20 World Cup Super-12 stage of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 kicked off with New Zealand stunning defending champions Australia in the first game. The showpiece event has already witnessed a few upsets and a few are likely on the cards.

Power hitters are needed in the T20I format that can change the course of the game helping their respective countries win matches. Their ability to clear any boundaries makes them special. If the situation goes down the wire, the power-hitter shows his class and targets the bowler with his stroke-making skills.

With the boundaries in Australia long, power hitters will play a big role to provide extra runs in this year’s T20 World Cup. Every team has such attacking batters making life tough for opponent captains and bowlers.

#1 Jos Buttler

Jos Buttler is known for his explosive hitting while opening the innings. He can hit sixes at will and would play a key role for the English side providing aggressive starts during this T20 World Cup.

Known as Jos the Boss, he has an excellent record with 1381 runs from 37 innings including 13 half-centuries and 1 century.

Buttler has a stunning strike rate of 153.27 while opening the innings. He would be eager to provide explosive starts along with Hales making sure that England posts competitive totals or chase down targets.

#2 Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya is one of the explosive power hitters in the current Indian team. Since coming back from injury, Pandya has been a game-changer in the shortest format.

Pandya can destroy any bowling attack in the last few overs of an innings against any top-quality bowling line in this tournament. With Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, Netherlands, and one more qualifying team included in Group 2, Pandya would be key for India’s chances with Ravindra Jadeja missing due to an injury.

Pandya played a total of 73 T20I matches so far with a career-best score of 71 runs in the first T20I against Australia in Mohali this year. He can smash the spinners with ease and can clear grounds easily if the shots connect properly. Kung Fu Pandya will need to come up so that India has a chance to help the Indian team win matches.

Miller made 106 off 47 balls with 8 fours and 7 sixes.

Miller can change the course with his explosive batting coming in middle overs with fewer overs remaining. He has performed brilliantly at the number 5 spot with 920 runs from 40 innings with a strike rate of 149.59.

If the openers can provide decent starts to the team, David Miller could be a handful and make sure that South Africa post down big totals or chase down targets on good batting pitches.

#4 Tim David

Tim David has been selected for the Australian team to increase the power strength of batting. With the likes of Maxwell, Stoinis in the middle order, David can provide impetus in death overs and help Australia post huge totals.

He made his T20I debut for Australia in the away T20I series against India. His performance was impressive during that series. With bigger grounds, David would be looking to stamp his authority and help Australia win matches.
