ICC T20 World Cup 2024: All You Need To Know About The Super 8 Stage

The league stages of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 have finished with 2 inconsequential matches left with New Zealand taking on PNG and Afghanistan to face hosts West Indies on 17^th June. Right before the tournament started, the teams were given seeding.

Group A saw India and United States of America qualify for the Super 8 stage. India thrashed Ireland in the first match with 8 8-wicket win. They then managed six-run win after scoring just 119 runs. Shivam Dube and Suryakumar Yadav ensured that India chased down 111 runs easily. Their last league match against Canada was called off.

USA stunned Canada in the first match chasing down 195. They produced a major upset stunning Pakistan in Super Over. It was a spirited performance by USA bowlers as they made life tough for Indian batters. Their final league game against Ireland was washed out. India has been seeded A1 while USA A2.

Australia went the league stage unbeaten winning against Oman, England, Namibia, and Scotland.  England made it into the Super 8 stage as their first match against Scotland was called off due to rain. After thrashing Oman and Namibia, Australia won against Scotland. The defending Champions has been seeded B1 while Australia B2.

Group C saw Afghanistan and West Indies qualifying. Both teams defeated New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, and Uganda comfortably. Afghanistan has been seeded C1 while hosts West Indies C2. South Africa has been seeded D1 while Bangladesh won 3 matches against Sri Lanka, Netherlands, and Nepal and will be D2.
