Netherlands named 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup to be played in the USA and West Indies starting from 2nd June onwards.
The major exclusion for the Netherlands in this tournament includes Roelf Van der Merwe and batter Colin Ackermann. Scott Edwards would lead the side and hope to create the same magic during the 2022 World Cup. They made it into the Super 12 stage by beating Namibia and UAE in the qualifying rounds. The Netherlands defeated the likes of Zimbabwe and South Africa in the Super 12 stage.
Vikramjit Singh, Max O Dowd, Wesley Barresi, Michael Levitt, Sybrand Engelbrecht, Teja Nidamanuru, and Bas De Leede would comprise of batters. Bas de Leede will play a key role with both bat and ball. The pace bowling options comprise de Leede, Fred Klassen, Logan Van Beek, Pal van Meekeren, and Viv Kingma. Aryan Dutt and Tim Pringle would consist of spin bowling options.
“We have been able to select a well-balanced team which we are confident will be able to perform in the conditions against the opposition we face in the US and West Indies,” Head coach Ryan Cook said.
“All of the players have been training well and have been involved in the recent ProSeries with some exciting performances showing the growing depth and quality in Netherlands cricket. We have managed to perform admirably in the last two World Cups we have participated in and will be determined to rise to the challenges we face ahead to reach the next round of the tournament.”

Netherlands has been clubbed with Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, and South Africa in Group D. They will start their tournament against Nepal on 4th June at Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas, Texas.
They will then take on South Africa in a much-anticipated contest to be played in New York on 8th June. Their next match would be against Bangladesh on 13th June at Arnos Vale Stadium, Kingstown, St Vincent.
Their last match of the Group stage would be against Sri Lanka on 16th June at Darren Sammy Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia. The Netherlands qualified for the mega event by finishing in the top 8 of the T20 World Cup 2022 played in Australia.
