ICC T20 World Cup 2024: [WATCH] Virat Kohli Shows Off Six-Pack Abs In The Practice Session

During a practice session ahead of the 2024 T20 World Cup, Virat Kohli, Team India’s batting sensation, created quite a buzz among fans at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. The excitement stemmed from Kohli flaunting his impressive six-pack abs, a moment captured on video and widely shared on social media.

At 35, Kohli continues to set the standard for fitness in world cricket. His commitment to physical conditioning is evident in his ability to run swiftly between the wickets and accelerate his innings with remarkable agility. Despite joining the squad just 24 hours before the warm-up match against Bangladesh, team management opted to rest him for the fixture.

“Virat has just arrived yesterday, he’s going to miss out,” confirmed Indian skipper Rohit Sharma during the toss. Kohli’s exceptional form remains a talking point, having secured the Orange Cap in IPL 2024 with an impressive 741 runs for the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Team India secure a huge win in their sole warm-up match despite Virat Kohli’s absence

In Kohli’s absence, the Men in Blue comfortably defeated Bangladesh in the practice match in New York. Rohit Sharma, who won the toss and chose to bat, scored 23 runs off 19 balls. Rishabh Pant led the batting charge with a top score of 53 off 32 deliveries, supported by quickfire contributions from Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya, who scored 31 and 40 runs, respectively. India posted a total of 182/5 in their allotted 20 overs.

On the bowling front, Arshdeep Singh and Shivam Dube each claimed two wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Hardik Pandya, and Axar Patel took one wicket apiece. Their collective effort restricted Bangladesh, securing a 60-run victory for India.

Rohit Sharma and his team will kick off their T20 World Cup campaign on June 5 against Ireland in New York, aiming to build on their strong performance in the warm-up match.
