The International Cricket Council (ICC) shared the much-awaited update on the sale of tickets for the ODI World Cup 2023. The ticket sale begins on August 25, confirmed the global cricket body. The ICC ODI World Cup 2023 will kick off on October 5 in India, with the finals on November 19 in Ahmedabad.
The ICC announced the details for the ticket sales after the revised schedule for the World Cup was confirmed. Some members had requested the BCCI to modify the schedule to void logistical issues. The revised schedule was announced along with the details about ticket sales on Wednesday, August 9. The ticket sales will open in phases confirmed by the governing council.
“To manage the expected demand for tickets and to give as many fans as possible the best chance of seeing the world’s best players, tickets will go on sale in phases,” the ICC wrote in their release.
Ticket registration to begin on August 15
The fans will have the opportunity to register their interest in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 ticket sales from 15 August. The sales of Non-India warm-up matches and Non-India event matches will begin on August 25. Meanwhile, the ticket sale for India’s warm-up matches slated to take place in Guwahati and Trivandrum will take place from August 30.
For the group stages, tickets for India’s matches in Chennai, Delhi and Pune will begin on August 31. India will play against Australia in Chennai on October 9, and against Afghanistan in Delhi on October 11. They are slated to play against Bangladesh on October 19 in Pune. Meanwhile, the sale for India’s matches at Dharamsala, Lucknow and Mumbai will begin on September 1. India will play against New Zealand (Dharamsala, October 22), England (Lucknow, October 29) and Sri Lanka (Mumbai, November 2).
The fans can book tickets for the much-awaited India-Pakistan match, which is at Ahmedabad from September 3. The match has been preponed by a day and will take place on October 14. Meanwhile, the ticket sales for the semi-final matches and the final begin on September 15.
Tickets will go on sale on the following dates:
25 August – Non-India warm-up matches and all non-India event matches
30 August – India matches at Guwahati and Trivandrum
31 August – India matches at Chennai, Delhi and Pune
1 September – India matches at Dharamsala, Lucknow and Mumbai
2 September – India matches at Bengaluru and Kolkata
3 September – India matches at Ahmedabad
15 September – Semi Finals and Final
