Pakistan’s fast bowler Ihsanullah Khan has made headlines after issuing a fiery challenge to India’s rising star Abhishek Sharma. Following India’s dominant Asia Cup campaign, the pacer declared that if given the chance to bowl against Abhishek, he would dismiss him within just a few deliveries. “If I get to play against India, I will dismiss Abhishek Sharma in 3-6 balls,” Ihsanullah said confidently in a viral clip that has sparked debate among fans across both nations.
Ihsanullah, who once clocked a blistering 152.65 kmph delivery in the 2023 Pakistan Super League, believes his pace and swing would be too much for the young Indian batter to handle. The pacer last featured in the National T20 Cup in March, where he took four wickets in three matches for Peshawar. His reputation for raw pace and sharp bounce has made him one of Pakistan’s most exciting prospects.
“My 140 Will Feel Like 160 to Him”
Explaining his confidence, Ihsanullah broke down his bowling strategy for left-handers like Abhishek. “My 140 (kmph) will feel like 160 to him. He won’t be able to judge them,” he claimed. The young fast bowler added that his natural inswingers trouble most left-handed batters, which he believes could expose Abhishek’s weakness. “To left-handers, I bowl inswingers, and he has struggled against such balls; that is why I am saying,” he explained.
Further emphasizing his aggressive approach, Ihsanullah said, “I target the right shoulder of left-handed batters with my bouncers. And my bouncers are very effective.” His statements have fueled excitement among fans eager to see an India–Pakistan face-off featuring both young talents.
Abhishek’s Meteoric Rise and Global Praise
Meanwhile, Abhishek Sharma’s rapid ascent in international cricket continues to draw admiration. The 23-year-old southpaw played a pivotal role in India’s Asia Cup triumph, amassing 314 runs in seven matches at a staggering strike rate nearing 200. Overall, he has accumulated 593 runs in 12 T20Is this season, averaging 49.41 with a phenomenal 208.8 strike rate.
Cricket legend Brian Lara recently praised the youngster’s skill and determination. “He is an amazing young player… something very special. Yuvraj Singh had a big influence on him, his bat speed, the way he hits through the ball,” Lara remarked. He also noted Abhishek’s ambition beyond limited-overs cricket: “Even though he’s having success in T20s and maybe the 50-over format, he still wants to break into the Test team, which is great.”
As Ihsanullah’s challenge gains traction, fans await a potential showdown that could add another fiery chapter to the India–Pakistan cricket rivalry.
