Pakistani Players Ignored in The Hundred 2025 Draft
Adding to Pakistan’s woes, not a single Pakistani cricketer was picked in The Hundred 2025 Draft, despite 44 players being registered for selection. Big names such as Shadab Khan, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Amir, Saim Ayub, Imad Wasim, and Azam Khan were all overlooked.
In contrast, New Zealand and Australian players were in high demand, with nine Kiwis and eight Aussies securing contracts in the league. This snub further signals a decline in Pakistan’s reputation in world cricket, as international teams and franchises seem to have lost confidence in Pakistani players. It serves as a wake-up call for Pakistan cricket to address its shortcomings and rebuild its image before facing long-term damage.
