Afghanistan named 19-member squad for the 3-match T20I series against India to be played from 11th January. Rashid Khan has been included in the squad despite being injured but is unlikely to feature in any of the matches.
Ibrahim Zadran has been appointed as the captain for the T20I series. They have a strong batting unit comprising Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ibrahim Zadran, Ikram Akhil, Rahmat Shah, Najibullah Zadran, Mohammad Nabi, Karim Janat, Azmatullah Omarzai, Gulbdain Naib.
Mohammad Nabi, Karim Janat, Gulbdain Naib, and Omarzai have been named as the all-rounders for the series. The pace bowling options include Fazallahq Farooqi, Fareed Ahmad, Naveen UL Haq, and Gulbdain Naib.
Mujeeb Ur Rahman will be a part of the squad after being removed from the BBL 13. Rashid Khan has been included in the squad despite being injured. It promises to be an exciting series as it will be an ideal preparation for both teams ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024. Ibrahim Zadran led a 2-1 series victory over the United Arab Emirates played in Sharjah.

The first T20I match will be played on 11th January at Mohali, the 2nd match to be played at Holkar Stadium, Indore on 14th January, and the final T20I match will take place at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on 17th January.
