The tall lanky pace bowler from Karanakta, Prasidh Krishna conceded the most runs by an Indian in the T20I format. He achieved this unwanted during the 3rd match of the series played at Basapara Stadium, Guhwati on 28th November 2023.
It was a high-scoring affair as the Indian team posted 222 for 3 in 20 overs. It was not an ideal start for the Men in Blue as they lost wickets of Jaiswal and Ishan Kishan cheaply. Suryakumar Yadav looked in decent touch playing some attacking shots not allowing them to settle. Ruturaj Gaikwad played cautiously taking singles and hitting occasional boundaries.
After the dismissal of Suryakumar Yadav, Gaikwad showed his array of strokes putting enough pressure on Aussies bowlers. On the other hand, Tilak Varma struggled with his timing. Gaikwad showed his class with his maiden T20I century. He maintained the momentum for India hitting big shots against Glenn Maxwell in the final over. Gaikwad remained not out on 123 and helped the Indian team post 222 for 3 in 20 overs.
Prasidh Krishna was belted for 16 runs in his first over by Head and Aaron Hardie. Glenn Maxwell took the attack to Krishna putting him under immense pressure hitting him with 23 runs.
Krishna bowled with great control not allowing Maxwell and Matthew Wade width. He went for just 6 runs in the 18th over. He was handed the responsibility of the final over with 21 runs.
Krishna was hit for four by Matthew Wade off the very first delivery. He could not hold his own as he was belted by Glenn Maxwell for six, four, four, four. It was a disappointing outing for Krishna as India could not defend 223 losing by 5 wickets.
