Team India kicked off training for the five-match Test series against England with an intense session on Monday, January 22 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. The venue will host the opening match of the test series, which commences on Thursday, January 25.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday, shared a video from Team India’s practice session. The Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma along with the team undertook an intense training session to prepare for the series. They first started warm-up and light drills, before practising in the nets. Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and the other batters sweated it out in the nets, facing the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, etc. Meanwhile, KS Bharat was seen doing the wicket-keeping drills.

Virat Kohli to miss the first two Tests
Team India batter Virat Kohli will be missing the first two test matches against England due to personal reasons. The BCCI informed about the decision on Monday, January 22 through a press release. The Indian selectors are likely to announce Virat Kohli’s replacement soon. Meanwhile, England batter Harry Brook too has withdrawn from the series due to personal reasons. Dan Lawrence, who has been named as his replacement has joined the England squad ahead of the series.
