Kiwi spinner Ajaz Patel became the third bowler to take all 10 wickets in an innings in Test cricket after Jim Laker and Anil Kumble. Mohammed Siraj was Patel’s 10th wicket as he picked the remaining four wickets after taking six wickets on the first day of the Test match. In the process, India were bowled out for 326.

After taking six wickets on day one, Patel took the remaining four wickets bowling a total of close to 48 overs bowling 12 maidens and giving 119 runs. The left-arm spinners dismissed Mayank Agarwal (150), Wriddhiman Saha (27), Ravichandran Ashwin (0), Axar Patel (52), Jayant Yadav (12) and Mohammed Siraj (4). Patel also became the first bowler to take a 10-for in his place of birth.

Twitter Bows Down To Ajaz Patel’s Rare Feat

Mayank’s batting effort was the highlight on day two with him scoring his third 150-plus score in Test cricket. Axar Patel also scored his maiden Test fifty.

“This is what dreams are made of. To be out here and to go up there and pick up four wickets in the first day is pretty special. At the same time the job is only half done, so we need to turn up tomorrow and work hard for the last wickets.”

“It was my day today and I am very very lucky to be sitting here with four wickets and I am pretty happy about it, being in my home town at Wankhede it’s quite special for me” Patel said in his presser on day 1.
