IND vs NZ: [WATCH] Ravindra Jadeja’s Stunning No-Look Run-Out Shocks Fans
Ravindra Jadeja

The second Test between India and New Zealand has been a rollercoaster, featuring a standout moment from Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. During New Zealand’s second innings, Jadeja executed a remarkable run-out, catching New Zealand’s William O’Rourke off guard. In the 70th over, Glenn Phillips struck the ball towards Washington Sundar, prompting the New Zealand batsmen to attempt a risky two.

O’Rourke, however, hesitated during the second run. Jadeja swiftly picked up the ball and, without looking, fired it directly at the stumps, dismissing O’Rourke. This quick-thinking play brought memories of similar iconic moments by MS Dhoni, igniting excitement among fans.

New Zealand’s Strong Performance in the Second Test

New Zealand has shown solid resilience throughout the ongoing second Test, building on their victory in the first Test in Bengaluru. They secured a 259-run first-innings score, while India, struggling with the bat, could only respond with 156 runs. In their second innings, New Zealand added another 255 runs to their tally, setting India a daunting target of 359 runs to level the series.

Key contributors included Tom Latham, who top-scored with 86, and Glenn Phillips, who remained unbeaten with a gritty 48 from 82 balls. This strategic batting performance by New Zealand put them in a favourable position, applying constant pressure on the Indian side.

Indian Bowlers Aim to Turn the Tide

India’s bowling unit, led by Washington Sundar, fought hard to restrict New Zealand’s second innings. Sundar emerged as the top performer, claiming four crucial wickets. Ravindra Jadeja, apart from his spectacular run-out, also picked up three wickets, while Ravichandran Ashwin contributed with two dismissals. Despite their efforts, India faces an uphill task to chase down 359 runs and equalize the series. The Indian team will need a significant improvement in their batting to overcome New Zealand’s lead and keep the series alive.
