The second sting squad of Team India has reached Sri Lanka for the ODI and T20I tour. India led by captain Shikhar Dhawan and coach Rahul Dravid has many young talents in the team. The One-day internationals between the teams will begin from 18th July and it will be interesting to see who makes it to India playing XI.

The 20-man squad has some extraordinary talents in the team but they might not get a chance in playing XI. It will be a major responsibility for Rahul Dravid and Shikhar Dhawan to give equal chances to all the youngsters. However, it will not be an easy job, still, they have to figure things out.
Let’s have a look at what could be the Indian line-up to go up against Sri Lanka:
Shikhar Dhawan
Captain Dhawan will undoubtedly be the first choice opener, he was also the highest run-getter in the IPL. The 35-year-old had sensational Indian Premier League 2021 as he ended with 380 in just 8 matches with an orange cap on his head.
Meanwhile, Shikhar has been the main man for India in ODIs for a long time now. He has been giving good performances consistently over the years, Shikhar Dhawan might bat even better with the captaincy responsibility on his back.
Prithvi Shaw
The partner of Shikhar Dhawan from Delhi capitals Prithvi Shaw would be a great choice for an opening batsman. He is in the red hot form currently, Since getting dropped from the Indian Test side he has been scoring a hell of a lot of runs in the matches.
Shaw was the fourth-highest run-getter in the IPL with 308 runs in 8 innings. The 21-year-old has already represented India in ODIs but has failed to score big runs. This time he will have a great opportunity to prove his worth alongside his senior mate.

Manish Pandey
The experienced Manish Pandey will be a huge asset for India in this tour. Manish Pandey has already played 26 One Day International games for India scoring 492 runs. The 31-year-old will have a chance once again to get back his name in India’s main line-up.
Manish Pandey had a pretty decent IPL 2021. He was the second-highest run-scorer for the team with 193 runs. India might give Pandey preference at number 3 solely based on his international experience.
Surya Kumar Yadav
Surya Kumar Yadav has been in exceptional form in the last few months, in his debut match he scored a brilliant fifty. SKY is a consistent performer in the domestic circuit and he would be the best choice for number 4.
SKY was also praised by captain Virat Kohli for his fearless batting. Surya has the capabilities to play slow and responsible innings, he also possesses the potential to accelerate the innings whenever needed.
Sanju Samson
The wicketkeeper Sanju Samson will be a good choice at number 5 . He batted brilliantly in IPL 2021 even scoring a century in the match. Overall he has scored 277 runs in IPL with an average of 46.16.
Although Sanju has disappointed everybody with his performance in international cricket. Batting for the team in 7 T20i matches he has scored only 83 runs. He will have an option to change his fortune on this tour.

Hardik Pandya
The Mumbai Indians all-rounder didn’t have a great IPL 2021 season. He is still unfit to deliver spells in the match, So he will have a big responsibility to play as a proper batsman in the team.
Hardik’s match finishing abilities are unimaginable, India might be looking forward to utilizing Hardik properly in the series so that he remains fit for the T20 World Cup 2021.
Krunal Pandya
The second half of the Pandya brothers; Krunal Pandya. He scored a half-century in his debut match against England at home. Krunal impressed everyone with his aggressive batting in a difficult stage of the match. However, with the ball, he got exposed against the English batters.
Krunal will provide much-needed depth in the batting line-up and his left-arm spin will be a great asset for the Indian side.
Deepak Chahar
The star CSK bowler is a world record holder, he picked 6 wickets against Bangladesh by giving away on 7 runs. He bowls amazing swing deliveries and will be a big threat for Sri Lankan batsmen. Chahar has already represented India in 16 international games.
He is Dhoni’s biggest weapon for the breakthrough in the powerplay. Dhawan will be looking forward to bring the best out of Chahar in the series

Bhuvneshwar Kumar
The Vice-captain will have a big responsibility on his shoulders in this tour. He will be leading the charge of India’s bowling unit. His experience in international cricket will be helpful for the team.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar after recovering from injury made a sensational comeback on the Indian side. In the home series against many believed he should have been awarded Player of the series.
Yuzvendra Chahal
The leg spinner has been the best bowler in the shortest form of the game. However, he was dropped from the Indian team after his poor run. He has been struggling to get back in form, and lately, he ain’t doing well for RCB too.
With the emergence of mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy and Leg spinner, Rahul Chahar India have plenty of options. Yuzi Chahal will have to perform well to retain his spot on the team. India will be looking forward to getting remarkable performance from the spinner.
Navdeep Saini
The pacer with strong arms has played international cricket for India in all three formats. He has represented India in 2 Tests 7 ODIs and 10 T20Is. However, even after a decent performance in the international scene, he has fallen behind in the race.
The 28-year-old played only played 1 match in the IPL 2021 for RCB. Once looked like the future of the fast bowling department has surely been underperforming consistently. He will have an opportunity in the Sri Lanka tour to once again get his name back in the main squad.
