Former cricketer Michael Vaughan is impressed with Team India’s new aggressive batting approach in one-day internationals. He expressed that they will be the favorites to win the upcoming ICC Men’s World Cup 2023. The mega-event will take place later this year in October-November in India.
Team India took on New Zealand in a three-match ODI series at home. They 300plus score twice in the series, with Shubman Gill finishing as the leading run-scorer. The opener slammed a double century in the first game, a 40 in the second, and ended the series with a century. Skipper Rohit Sharma also slammed a century in the third ODI.
Following India’s batting performance, Michael Vaughan took to Twitter to share his thoughts. He tweeted,

Shubman Gill’s prolific run for Team India in 2023
Team India opener Shubman Gill has been in terrific form in ODI matches. He has scored 1254 runs at an average of 73.76 and a strike rate of 109.81. In his short career, he has four centuries and a fifty, including a double century. The 23-year-old’s performance has been one of the main reasons behind India putting up 300-plus totals on the board.
Along with him, Virat Kohli has also been in good touch. He averages 67.60, scoring 338 runs, with a couple of centuries to his name. With the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 around the corner, the duo’s form is a huge plus for Team India. They will be hoping to lift their third ICC World Cup title this year.
