Team India will look for another dominating win as they take on Bangladesh in the second Test match to be played at Sher E Bangla Stadium, Mirpur on 22 December 2022.
India produced a dominating performance in the first game winning the Test match by 188 runs. The pitch is likely to favour spinners as the game progress as they did during the first two One-day international matches.
Team India is not likely to tinker with the playing XI as Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav did a brilliant job, while Ravichandran Ashwin did not pick many wickets but kept the pressure on Bangladesh’s batting line-up.
Shubman Gill scored his maiden Test century in the second innings while Cheteshwar Pujara made vital contributions in both innings. The stand-in captain KL Rahul looked out of sorts in both innings and would be hoping to showcase his performance. Virat Kohli failed in the first innings and remained not out in the second innings at Chattorgam.

The Indian team would be hoping for another win to stay in contention for ICC Test Championship 2021/23 finals. Mohammed Siraj and Umesh Yadav looked sharp on a placid batting pitch in the first Test. The conditions likely to favour pacers early on, both Indian pacers would love to create an impact on Bangladesh’s batting line-up.
As far as Bangladesh is concerned, Najimul Hasan Shanto and Zakir Hossain did a decent job while opening the innings for Bangladesh in the second innings. Zakir scored a century in his debut Test match.
Yasir Ali failed to contribute to both innings. The experienced middle order comprising of Liton Das, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Shakib Al Hasan needs to contribute big time to put pressure on Indian bowling.
Ebadot Hossain has been ruled out of the second Test due to an injury. Taskin Ahmed could be an ideal choice with the conditions likely to favor pacers. Taijul Islam will pose a threat to Indian batters. Shakib AL Hasan did not bowl many overs in the first Test match. Bangladesh needs him as a captain as well as a bowler.
The team batting first scores 341 runs in the first innings. The second innings sees 317, followed by 231 in the third innings and fourth innings with 180 runs.
