One can really never say what goes through the mind of an Indian cricket fan. At a time when Indian cricket is going through a crisis, a certain section of fans has made some bizarre demands on social media.
Anil Kumble”s exit has led to a lot of reactions and furore in the cricket fraternity and fans are making it even more difficult with their unreasonable demands.
So much so that, MSD fans took to social media demanding the return of their very own MAHI as captain of the Indian cricket team. All this in the wake of Kumble”s ouster. Even as Dhoni”s fan following continues to increase by the day, this demand by them on social media is not helping the situation.
It all began with Kumble stepping down as coach. The CAC had conveyed to Jumbo that Kohli was not comfortable with his style of working and the Kumble believed it was better to walk out of such a situation than stay in it, this despite the BCCI extending his tenure for another one year.
The team is currently in West Indies and even though they have given a good account of themselves in all formats of the game, the recent off-field developments have not gone down too well with a certain section of the fans. Even as the BCCI has sprung into action to find Kumble”s replacement, fans on social media want Dhoni to take over from Kohli.
Even as the Kumble-Kohli subsides, fans are of the opinion that, Kohli had “too much attitude” – While many have criticized Kohli, it is unfortunate to see certain section of the fans pass their judgement without even hearing/ knowing both sides of the story. So even as the fans blame Kohli for Kumble”s ouster, they have gone a step further by demanding the return of Dhoni at the helm of things.
Dhoni has been one of India”s most successful captains and it comes as no surprise that his fans want to see him back, but they will need to understand that Kohli is a man of results and he too has produced some special moments as captain of the side in a very short time.
