Star Indian cricketer Bhuvneshwar Kumar will get married to fiancé Nupur Nagar in a ceremony which will be attended by close friends and relatives in Meerut on November 23. The wedding ceremony will be followed by two receptions dinners – one on Nov 26 in Bulandshahr and the other on November 30 in Delhi, which will be attended by all his India teammates and colleagues.
Notably, the right-arm fast bowler got engaged in Greater Noida on October 4.
Kiran Pal Singh, Kumar’s father while talking to TOI said that they were looking for a 10-day window for the marriage ceremony and was planning to have it Meerut itself. However, Now the wedding ceremony will only take place at a resort in Meerut on November 23rd which be attended by his close friends and family. One of the two receptions will take place in Bulandshahr on 26 November where his extended family stays.
And finally, the grand reception is scheduled in Delhi on November 30th which will be attended by Indian teammates namely Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja and others. The support staffs of the Indian team will also be present there to grace the reception ceremony. Other delegates from the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association and Board of Cricket Control of India are also expected to attend the reception party.
“The wedding will take place in Meerut and it will be attended by family and close friends. But we want Bhuvneshwar”s teammates and members from the Board to also take part in celebrations, which is why we will have a reception in Delhi for them. We are sure everybody will attend it because the entire team will be in Delhi from November 30 for the Sri Lanka series,” Kiran Pal Singh was heard saying to TOI.
India will be playing a test series against Sri Lanka from November 16 which means that Kumar will miss the second test due to his wedding preparation which is scheduled to take place on November 24. Kumar has already started his shopping as ordered a sherwani for his wedding from Kolkata.
Nupur is currently working as an engineer in an MNC in Greater Noida and both the families have known each other since long as they reside in the same street of Meerut’s Ganga Nagar. Nupur’s father is a retired officer from Uttar Pradesh Police department.
