After beating South Africa in the ODI series, the Indian women completed T20I series win by beating South African women by 54 runs in 5th T20I played at Cape Town just finished a few moments ago. South African captain won the toss and invited India into bat. Mithali Raj and Rodrigues partnership, Harmanpreet Kaur cameo knock helped Indian women post 166 for 4. While chasing South Africa lost wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out for 112.
South African captain Dan Van Niekerk won the toss and invited India into bat. Smriti Mandhana and Mithali Raj gave the team a solid start putting on 32 runs in 4.2 overs. At the end of six overs, Indian women scored 39 for 1. After the powerplay overs, Mithali Raj and Rodrigues played with positive intent putting pressure on South African bowlers. Indian ODI captain reached her 50 off 46 balls. Both Raj and Rodrigues added 98 runs for the second wicket.
Mithali Raj and Rodrigues went in quick succession. Harmanpreet Kaur played a cameo knock scoring 27 off 17 balls. Indian women posted a competitive total of 166 for 4 in 20 overs.
Chasing 167, South African women got off to a worse start losing 3 big wickets before the first six overs which put pressure on the hosts. Tyron and Kapp added 27 runs for a 6th wicket. It was a good bowling performance by Indian women’s team. South African women were bowled out for 112 in 18 overs.
