When all the eyes are on you, a single mistake will be enough to send you into a downward spiral. The Indian Cricket team faces such a predicament every time they step out onto the field. The pressure to perform at the highest level is always overbearing as an Indian cricketer.

Although some people take it on the chin and use it as a motivation to give their best, others wilt under the pressure and get sidelined. And when the schedule is jam-packed, the margin for error becomes much lesser than before. Due to the pandemic, the Indian cricket team could not play a game for months.

To make up for that, however, the BCCI has a tight schedule planned for the next couple of years.

Busy road ahead for Team India

After their participation in the World Test Championship Final, Virat Kohli’s men have an important 5-match Test series against England lined up. They will then be part of the second phase of the IPL in the UAE, scheduled to be played in the month of September.

In October 2021, South Africa will tour India for a limited-overs series, and this will be followed by the T20 World Cup in October and November. After the T20 World Cup, New Zealand will tour India for a series consisting of 2 Tests and 3 T20Is. India’s last assignment of 2021 will be a tour to South Africa.

From January to March 2022, India will take on West Indies in 3 ODI’s and as many T20I’s which is followed by a series against Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankan series will consist of 3 Tests followed by 3 T20I’s, with no ODI’s scheduled.

In July, India will take on England in a limited-overs series consisting of 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is, and will once again face off against West Indies in a white-ball series. India will then play in the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia. The months of November and December will see India play against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

January 2023 will see India take on New Zealand in a limited-overs series. This will be followed by the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia in February, consisting of 4 Tests, 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is.
