Team India is all set to tour Ireland for a T20I series that kicks off on August 18 in Dublin. They will take on each other in three T20I matches at the Malahide Cricket Club across the week. The final T20I will take place on August 23. The squads for both teams were announced recently by the respective boards.
India has named a second-string side for the tour. Regular skipper Hardik Pandya has been rested for the tour. In his absence, Jasprit Bumrah will be leading the Indian team. The series marks the pacer’s comeback after a long break due to injury. It will be key to judge his fitness with the ODI World Cup around the corner. Prasidh Krishan will also be making a comeback from injury.
Meanwhile, Paul Stirling is at the helm for Ireland. All-rounders Fionn Hand and Gareth Delany have returned to the squad. They missed the T20 World Cup Europe Region Qualifier, where Ireland sealed a spot for the 2024 T20I World Cup. The qualifier’s success has boosted the morale of the team.
