Chennai Super Kings lost the match against Mumbai Indians by eight wickets at Pune yesterday. Meanwhile, their key pacer Deepak Chahar has been ruled out for two weeks as he sustained a hamstring injury in yesterday”s match.
He wasn”t able to complete his full quota of overs yesterday. In due course of his third over, he bowled only a single delivery and Harbhajan did the formalities to finish it.
It is to be noted that Deepak Chahar has played all seven matches for Chennai this season and picked six wickets that includes crucial breakthroughs.
Head coach Stephen Fleming confirmed Deepak”s unavailability in the post-match conference. He said, “He has had hamstring injuries in the past, he has a pretty good idea when he is in trouble so it”s probably a couple of weeks which is a bit of a blow.”
The team is already missing the services of Kedar Jadhav and Mitchell Santner and this surely is a blow to the bowling line up. Asif KM or Kshitiz Sharma are the possible replacements for Deepak Chahar in the squad.
Chennai Super Kings will play their next match against Delhi Daredevils at Pune on April 30.
