England dashing opener Alex Hales has been named as a replacement for David Warner in the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad for IPL 11. David Warner will not take part in this year’s IPL season due to ball tampering scandal as Cricket Australia banned Steve Smith, David Warner for 1 year.
Alex Hales was not picked by any franchise during the 2018 IPL auctions. David Warner was the backbone of Sunrisers Hyderabad batting line up for the past 2 to 3 years. In the 2015 edition of IPL, Warner scored 2579 runs from 59 innings at a strike rate of 147.70. 2 years before, Warner also led Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise to their first IPL title beating Royal Challengers Bangalore. The dashing Australian left-handed batsman was retained by Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise by using right to match card.
David Warner decided to step down from the captaincy after being banned by Cricket Australia. Alex Hales is known for hard-hitting abilities. He made his T20I debut for England against India in 2011. Since his debut, he has played 52 T20I’s scoring 1456 runs with the best score of 116 in the 2014 T20 World Cup against Sri Lanka.

Alex Hales plays for Notts Outlaws in the domestic T20 Blast that takes place in England. His ability to hit big shots and putting pressure on opposition bowlers makes him a threat. The hard-hitting England batsman is currently at the number 7 in ICC batsmen rankings for T20Is.
He has also played 59 ODI matches for England with the best score of 171 against Pakistan. Along with that Hales represented England in 11 test matches.

Alex Hales will open with Shikhar Dhawan for Sunrisers Hyderabad. If Sunrisers franchise reaches the playoffs stage, then England opener will miss few matches of Royal London Cup 2018. Hales smashed 187 not out in the finals for Nottinghamshire Outlaws and helped them to lift the title against Surrey at Lords last year.
Kane Williamson has been named as the captain for Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise during this season.
