Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Mumbai Indians in last ball thriller of 7th match of Indian Premier League 2018 played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad just a few minutes ago. SRH captain Kane Williamson invited Mumbai Indians into bat, restricted Mumbai Indians to 147 for 8. While chasing, Sunrisers Hyderabad was comfortably placed but lost wickets at regular intervals. Deepak Hooda played an important knock and helped SRH win the match by 1 wicket.
Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Kane Willamson won the toss and invited Mumbai Indians into bat. Mumbai Indians got off to a poor start losing wicket of captain Rohit Sharma in the 2nd over. West Indian Evin Lewis played some wonderful strokes scoring 29 runs off 17 balls. Both Ishan Kishan and Lewis added 37 runs for the second wicket. Siddarth Kaul dismissed Ishan Kishan and Lewis in quick succession. After first six overs, Mumbai Indians scored 54 for 3.
Krunal Pandya also could not score many runs as he was dismissed for 15 runs. Surya Kumar Yadav played slowly scoring 28 runs off 31 balls. Kieron Pollard some wonderful strokes and added 38 runs for the 5th wicket with Surya Kumar Yadav. Despite Bhuvneshwar Kumar not in the playing XI today, Sandeep Sharma, Kaul bowled brilliantly. In the middle overs, Rashid Khan did not give many runs and was most economical bowler picking 1 wicket giving away just 13 runs. Sunrisers Hyderabad restricted Mumbai Indians to just 147 for 8.
Chasing 148, Sunrisers Hyderabad openers Shikhar Dhawan and Wriddhiman Saha got off to a great start. Dhawan continued his brilliant form and smashed the Mumbai Indians bowlers. In the first six overs, SRH scored 56 runs for 0. Wriddhiman Saha was given out with a review by Mumbai Indians and the decision had to be reversed. The opening pair added 63 runs for the 1st wicket.
Markande impressed again picking Saha, Dhawan, Shakib AL Hasan and Manish Pandey. Sunrisers Hyderabad lost 5 quick wickets to put pressure on SRH batting line up. Yusuf Pathan and Deepak Hooda added 29 runs for the 6th wicket. With 15 runs needed off 18 balls, Jasprit Bumrah bought Mumbai Indians into the match by picking wickets of Yusuf Pathan and Rashid Khan in successive balls.
Mustafizur Rahaman bowled a brilliant 19th over giving away just 1 run and also picking 2 wickets. With 11 runs required off the last over, Â Deepak Hooda hit a six to make it 5 runs out of 5 balls. With 1 run off 1 ball, Stanlake hit a four to help Sunrisers Hyderabad win the match by 1 wicket.

SRH captain Kane Williamson said: The pitch was different from the last match. Deepak Hooda was brilliant at the end to secure the win for us. All the bowlers did a great job to restrict Mumbai Indians to just 147 for 8. The wicket was slowing down and thought the target was not easy to chase. We need to learn from this match and take it to the next game.
MI captain Rohit Sharma said: Early days in the tournament. Losing the second match in succession was tough to swallow. The total of 147 for 8 was just not enough. Batting unit should have batted with more responsibility. We have a lot of talent in the group and need to perform well with the bat.
Man of the match Rashid Khan: The plan was to bowl as many dot balls as possible. Love to bowl both leg spin and googly which troubles the batsmen. Team management asked me to enjoy and bowl in a good length area and mix up with my variations.
Sunrisers Hyderabad won their second successive match and are at 4 points along with Chennai Super Kings.
