After being sent into bat, KKR openers Chris Lynn and Shubman Gill added 96 runs for the opening wicket in 9.3 overs. Andre Russell who was promoted to number 3, proved his power hitting and took on Mumbai Indians bowlers.
Andre Russell reached his fifty off 30 balls and just smashed Mumbai Indian bowlers to all parts of the ground. His knock off 80 not out off 40 balls included 6 fours and 8 sixes with a strike rate of 200 helped KKR post a massive total of 232 for 2 in 20 overs. He was named as the man of the match for his all-round performance.
