Kings XI Punjab owner Preity Zinta was upset after her franchise lost the game against Delhi Capitals due to an umpiring blemish. It was due to this mistake by the on-field umpire which took the match to a Super Over. Delhi Capitals who were set to lose the game, then bounced back to win in the Super Over.
Chris Jordan opting to go for a second run in the 19th over was awarded a one-run penalty after the on-field umpires felt that he did not ground the bat properly over the crease. Ultimately that one run, became the decider of the Delhi Capitals vs Kings XI Punjab contest. The video clip from the 19th over went viral on social media which garnered the reaction of former cricketers including forme KXIP player and mentor Virender Sehwag.

Umpiring errors have been a constant in the IPL in the last few years. However, it is one of the teams who pay for it as it becomes a deciding factor in the match.
Last year, the Royal Challengers Bangalore lost a match against Mumbai Indians after the on-field umpires over-looked a no-ball from Lasith Malinga in the last over of the game.
Virat Kohli voiced his opinion on the game and questioned the umpiring standards of the world’s biggest cricket league.
