Former West Indian skipper, who is a part of the Star Sports commentary panel for IPL 2021 has picked his winners for the CSK vs DC match. Both teams have qualified for the playoffs alongside RoyalChallengers Bangalore. CSK are placed at the top of the points table while Delhi are placed second. Both teams are on 18 points and ooking to get to 20 in order to seal either of the top two spots.
Delhi Capitals have already beaten CSK earlier in the season and Brian Lara has backed them to win later tonight in Dubai as well. According to Lara, DC’s bowling attack will be the difference between the two teams.
“A test run for what is likely to be the first vs second game in a few days time, to decide which team goes straight to the finals. It’s a close one to call. I am going with DC here, as I feel their bowling attack is the strongest in this year’s IPL” he said on his official Instagram handle.
Brian Lara Expects Kagiso Rabada To Take Wickets
Lara expects Kagiso Rabada to get back to his wicket-taking form. The South African pacer won the Purple Cap last year taking 30 wickets in 17 games. This season he has been a bit cold taking 17 wickets from 11 games so far.
The winner of tonight’s clash will be the first team to get to 20 points in the league stage of this IPL season. Ahead of this game, Shreyas Iyer spoke about the team’s transition from 2019. from 2019, Delhi have been continuously making the final four and have proved to be one of the stronger teams in the competition.
“The transition has happened in the last two years and we have created that environment from 2019. Everything has shifted towards us. We tried to implicate all the good things towards each other and we really enjoy each others’ success in the dressing room and we also pull each others’ legs when someone gets out. No one is low, no one is high, whenever we perform well we try to be humble so that in the next game we start from nought” said Iyer.
