IPL 2021: Dale Steyn Predicts The Winner Of The Final Between CSK & KKR

CSK & KKR face off in the IPL 2021 final in Dubai on Friday, October 15. Chennai qualified for the final after beating Delhi Capitals in the first qualifier. KKR also beat Delhi in the second qualifier to make it to their third IPL final. Meanwhile, former South African pacer Dale Steyn has predicted the winner of the final.

Talking to ESPN Cricinfo, Dale Steyn felt KKR’s luck might go against them in the final. After starting the chase on the front foot on both occasions, they have somehow managed to get past the target. The same was relevant on on KKR’s middle-order panicked and almost spilt an easy run chase. They needed 11 off 24 which came down to seven from six. KKR lost six wickets for just seven runs in the final overs.

“I kind of have always played numbers. It’s like going to a casino. If it lands on black 10 times in a row then at some point red’s going to hit. I just feel that at some point KKR’s luck is going to catch up to them. Bad decisions and lack of form of Morgan and DK that kind of stuff is going to catch up to them. It almost did tonight and it might happen at the worst time and that’s the final” Steyn said.

Dale Steyn added that CSK have looked the calmer side this season and are likely to be a bit too good for KKR in the final.

“CSK look good, really calm. They look like they kind of have got going up in the right direction at the right time. Dhoni looked good the other night, he’s captained his team well. Their batters are looking good… I just think that KKR might come against a better team in the final.”

Chennai have beaten Kolkata in both the league games in IPL 2021. The second game was spilled by KKR from being in a potential winning position after Ravindra Jadeja hammered 22 runs off the 19th over from Prasidh Krishna.
