The second leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to start from September 19, in the UAE. The IPL franchises were hoping to land early in UAE in order to finalize the logistics deal.
Recently an official of one of the IPL franchise was quoted saying:
“We are looking at heading to UAE post-July 6 so that we can seal the logistical deals.”
The UAE Government has extended the suspension on flights from India till July 21. This development has halted the preparations of the IPL franchises who were planning to land early.
According to Cricbuzz, the BCCI is hoping for a bubble to bubble transfer of players from UK to UAE for rescheduled IPL. The players who are fully vaccinated will undergo 5 days quarantine, if not they'll go 10 of quarantine.

The Indian Premier League franchises will now have to ask for special permissions in order to travel to the gulf country, as charter flights could continue to operate.
“Unlike last year, bulk bookings won’t be as easy this year as you will have people traveling into the country and that makes the workaround bio-bubbles all the more critical,” added IPL Franchise official.
Players availability concerns for the franchises ahead of the second half of IPL 2021
The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was suspended on May 4 after a number of players and support staff tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. The league is all set to resume in the UAE from September 19, with the finals on October 14.
CWI President Ricky Skerritt has engaged with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) in talks for a tweaked CPL schedule to accommodate the second phase of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The rescheduling of the IPL has suffered major roadblocks. Many overseas players won’t be able to make it to the UAE leg of the league. The BCCI is in talks with the ECB and Cricket Australia to ensure the availability of Australian and England players. The Black Caps players have confirmed their availability for the remaining matches of the tournament.
The Caribbean Premier League will now commence on August 26, to accommodate the IPL.
