IPL 2021, Match 26 PBKS vs RCB: Spinners Help Punjab Kings Beat RCB

Harpreet Brar

Brar took the big three of RCB's batting line-up.

Punjab Kings beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 34 runs in match 26 of IPL 2021 to get to six points. This win takes Punjab Kings to the fifth position in the points table. Meanwhile, this was the second loss for RCB in their last three games. Despite the loss, they maintain their position at number three. More about the match report in detail below.

Playing his first game, Harpreet Brar’s spell of 3/19 took the sting out of RCB’s chase. he took the wickets of Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell and AB De Villiers to break the backbone of Bangalore’s chase. The lower-order despite their best efforts could not help the team go past the finish line. Kyle Jamieson scored 16 from 11 and Harshal Patel’s 13-ball 31 was not enough at the end as RCB succumbed to their second loss in their last three games. They had a narrow win against Delhi Capitals by just one run. In this game they reached only as far as 145/8. The team seems to be losing the momentum it gathered after winning their first four games.

He had an 80-run stand with Chris Gayle (46 off 24 balls). Before his exploits with the ball, Brar’s 25 off 17 helped Punjab reach the total they did at the end. On the given night it proved to be enough as the side notched their third win of the campaign and are back in the reckoning.
