The Mumbai Indians (MI) will take on the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Match 51 of the Indian Premier League 2021 (IPL) at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, October 5.
The Mumbai Indians have struggled throughout the tournament. Their top-order batsmen are struggling to find form, Mumbai hasn’t been in the runs so far in the season. Big guns like Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard have not sung their bats to their capabilities. They have played 12 matches so far and have won 5. Rohit led Mumbai Indians will need to win their remaining encounters to be in the playoffs race for the IPL 2021.
Similarly, the Rajasthan Royals has lost 3 of their last 5 matches. They need to win both their remaining fixtures, to stay in the race for the playoffs spot. They recently won against the CSK after a powerpack performance from youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal. Lone warrior Sanju Samson will have to pull out extraordinary performances from his men in order to crush MI and get one step closer to the 4th position on the points table. The opening duo of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Evin Lewis will have to set the tone for the Royals upfront in their innings.

#1. Suryakumar Yadav (MI)
Top-order batsmen SuryaKumar Yadav has struggled to find form as the second leg of the IPL 2021 has started. He’s got out cheaply and hasn’t been able to start his innings very well. HE is included in Indian’s 15 man squad for the T20 world cup 2021 after the IPL 2021 in the UAE itself.
Against the Royals, he has scored 335 runs in 10 innings at a strike rate of 139, including 2 fifties. This is going to be an important match for him, as the team needs big scores from their top-order batsmen and the perfect opportunity to come back into form keeping in mind the T20 world around the corner.
#2. Quinton De Kock (MI)
The south-African opener Quinton De Kock has not been so impressive this season. He lacks runs under his belt. But, he has some excellent records against the Men in Pink. He has scored 313 runs in 7 innings against the Royals with a strike rate of 142 including 3 fifties.
Mumbai Indians will rely on the experienced opener to give them a flying start with skipper Rohit Sharma. Quinton De Kock needs runs today, for Mumbai to reach at a decent total, or defend a target. Their hopes to qualify for the playoffs rely on the batsmen more than their bowlers.
#3. Sanju Samson (RR)
Rajasthan Royals skipper has been extraordinarily impressive throughout the IPL 2021. He has played crucial and important knocks for the team under pressure and has been brilliant with his captaincy, field placings, and most importantly behind the stumps.
Against the defending champions Mumbai Indians, Samson has a decent record. He has scored 488 runs in 17 matches at an average of 31 and an impressive strike rate of 141, including 5 fifty-plus scores. A do-or-die match for both teams, it will be interesting to see how Skipper Samson goes about his innings tonight.
