Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni added an unbeaten 24 off 15 deliveries to help CS beat RCB by six wickets in Sharjah on Friday. In the process, CSK retained the top spot with 14 points in nine matches. RCB despite their second loss on the bounce managed to hold onto the third spot in the table as of now. Meanwhile, it was another convincing win for the three-time champions who are getting better with every game.
RCB missed a trick with Suresh Not attacking him with pacers early on and feeding him spin. He counterattacked both the RCB spinners to give CSK an upper hand in the contest. After the fair share of criticism he took by the way he was dismissed, Raina came back stronger in the second game. He ended unbeaten on 17 off 10 balls with two fours and one six.

In the meantime, this was RCB’s seventh straight loss in the UAE while a fifth straight win for the Men in Yellow. Suresh Raina went past 5500 IPL runs during his knock. He has been away from cricket for so long but was back to his best for CSK after the first failure.
Raina returning to form is a good sign for CSK and an ominous one for the other teams. CSK is potentially one win away from making the playoffs. This will be a memorable comeback after they made a league stage exit in IPL 2020.
“Our players have worked hard and understood their roles and responsibilities. All three grounds here are different. This one is the slowest of the lot. I felt the left-right combination here was important with the bat. We bat deep with a lot of lefties and all of them are good to bat at any position, which is why we pushed Raina and Rayudu down. Bravo is fit and executing them well. I call him my brother and we always have fights over whether he should bowl the slower ball. But now everyone knows that he has the slower ball, so I told him to bowl six different balls in an over” said Dhoni after CSK’s win.
