Shivam Dube scored a 42-ball 64 as he helped Rajasthan Royals chase down 190 in less than 18 overs against Chennai Super Kings on Saturday. this was after the Royals openers gave a great start to the side with Yashasvi Jaiswal scoring a 21-ball 50. He along with Evin Lewis (27 off 12)scored 77 inside the powerplay to lay a great platform.
At last riding upon Shivam Dube’s knock, the Royals beat CSK by seven wickets and in the process, kept their playoffs hopes alive. After the game, the southpaw said how big a role Kumar Sangakkara played in reviving his batting form.
Known for his exemplary service in the gentlemen’s game, Sri Lanka’s selfless statesman had a pep talk with Dube ahead of Rajasthan’s crucial meeting with Dhoni-led Chennai in the second leg of the cash-rich league.
“We had a good start and for me it was going on with a good strike rate. I think I had positive intent from the start. Sanga (Sangakkara) told me to be positive at any moment because he knows my potential. He told me that I can win good matches. I did today. Thanks to Sanga,” Dube told Star Sports.

Dube took on the CSK spinners Moeen Ali and Ravindra Jadeja also took apart Sam Curran in his spell. His batting onslaught has managed to keep Rajasthan’s playoffs hopes alive this season.
“This knock was much needed for me as well as my team at this moment. And this knock is totally for my team. Because we are on number seven right now and we need to qualify and if we play really well (in) the other two matches, we gonna qualify, so it was important,” Dube said at the post-match press conference.
