Australia’s pace bowler Nathan Ellis is the latest addition to the Indian Premier League. The Punjab Kings signed him on Friday for the second phase of the Indian Premier League 2021 season. The tournament resumes on September 19 in the United Arab Emirates.
The Punjab Kings roped in Nathan Ellis as the duo of Riley Meredith and Jhye Richardson made themselves unavailable for the UAE leg. In a video message on Punjab Kings Instagram profile, Nathan expressed his excitement to play for the Punjab-based franchise. He said,
“Hi everyone, Nathan Ellis here. Super excited to be joining the Punjab Kings for the 2021 IPL resumption in the UAE. Few more days in the quarantine for me and then I’ll be out and ready to go. So, see you, everyone, soon. Cheers!”
Nathan Ellis made his International debut for Australia this year against Bangladesh in a T20 match. The pacer took a hattrick and became the first player to do so on their T20I debut. His figures read 3/34, dismissing the likes of Mahmudullah, Mustafizur Rahman, and Mahedi Hasan. Owing to his brilliant debut, Nathan Ellis has been included in the national squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.
In the past two weeks, Nathan Ellis has:
* Taken a hat-trick on international debut
* Been picked for the World Cup
* Signed an IPL dealIncredible for a guy who hadn’t even played state cricket two years ago. We all need stories like this right now https://t.co/lxHSg3tDUO
