KKR lost a last-ball thriller against CSK in Abu Dhabi after winning two back to back games at the same venue in the UAE leg. This was CSK’s third last-ball win against KKR. The architect of this victory was Ravindra Jadeja who after taking 3for 31 with the ball came back and scored 22 off8 balls to take their team home. Meanwhile, this was the sixth time when KKR lost a game defending a target in the final over, surpassing Mumbai India’s who have this record five times to their name.
Meanwhile, CSK are on 16 points and have almost secured their playoffs qualification while KKR are still fourth on the points table after this loss.
KKR have four games left and they face Delhi Capitals next on September 28. They potentially need to win all their remaining games to make it to the playoffs. CSK meanwhile found a way to win after losing five wickets between 16 to 20.

That was spectacular. Fantastic last over by Narine but Jadeja sealed the game with that incredible assault in the 19th over. They are back and back in style, are the Chennai Superkings @ChennaiIPL #CSKvsKKR pic.twitter.com/XJmKrR2tnW

Just a fantastic game of cricket! Two fine teams, two fine captains, two top openers on either side, spinners under pressure. This was one to remember. #CSKvsKKR

“It’s a nice victory to have. At times you play good cricket and you lose. It is enjoyable when you don’t do so well and still win. It was good cricket from both sides, and a pleasure for the spectators. We bowled well in patches. It’s not easy for the fast bowlers. We tried to give them short spells. 170 was a par score, I felt. When Jadeja was bowling, it was coming on and not stopping. The way we started, KKR deserve some applause for making a game out of it. We were also worried about how the wicket will be. When you keep playing on a wicket, groundsmen sometimes water it more and leave some more grass. [On six wins in a row in UAE] The important thing was to make the most of what we had learnt and to come back stronger” said a relieved MS Dhoni after the win.
