Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) keep their playoff hopes alive by beating Mumbai Indians in the third game of their UAE leg on Sunday. RCB earned a 54-run win over their arch-rivals in Dubai. Meanwhile, AB De Villiers led their post-match celebrations in the dressing room after Kohli’s men beat Rohit’s boys.
AB De Villiers tried imitating Virat Kohli’s style of celebration after coming back to the dressing room. ABD, however, failed with the bat scoring just 11 off six balls.

Virat Kohli scored his third fifty of this IPL scoring 51 off 42 balls at the top of the order. Glenn Maxwell had an all-round performance for RCB against MI. First, he scored 56 off 32 balls taking his team to 165/6 at the halfway mark. Then with the ball, he took two for 23 to bag the Man of the Match.
“I wanted to cash in hitting to the shorter side with the wind going that way as well. To be able to have a full pre-season with my state side Victoria, put in a lot of work on my bowling and starting to see the rewards now. Hopefully, people can stay safe, get vaccinated and we can travel around the world again and be nice and free” said Maxwell on his all-round show for RCB.
Meanwhile, another highlight of RCB’s performance was Harshal Patel who became the third RCB bowler to take a hat-trick in the IPL. He dismissed Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard and Rahul Chahar to bag the first hat-trick of his career.
Harshal Patel also spoke about his special performance. He said that after missing on six previous occasions, he was finally happy to pick up his first hat-trick in the IPL.
“This is my sixth time being on a hat-trick and finally got one, so pretty happy. He (Pollard) is somebody who can do damage if you bowl in his areas, we wanted to take him wide and then once you drag him wide you have the option to bluff him, that came off really well. The way Siraj started, he’s someone who sets the tempo for us and the way Maxi and Chahal bowled in the middle overs were absolutely brilliant. They were under pressure at the death and we executed really well.” said Patel.
