IPL 2021: Watch – Steve Smith Flies A Drone During Delhi Capitals’ Practice Session

During a recent training session, Delhi Capitals batsman Steve Smith was spotted flying a drone. Smith had a good time keeping an eye on the players while they were busy practising for the upcoming game against Mumbai Indians.

The Delhi Capitals took to social media on Thursday to share the video of Steve Smith flying the drone. The captioned the video:

“Looks who’s got a bird’s eye view of what’s happening in training P.S. @sambillings, ek DC Drone Bros group shuru karein?”

With Prithvi Shaw out because of an injury, Steve Smith opened the innings for Delhi against the Kolkata Knight Riders. With 39 runs, the Australian batsman was the team’s joint leading scorer. However, after registering only 127 for 9 while batting first, the Capitals ended up losing the match by three wickets.

Rishabh Pant Becomes The Leading Run-scorer for DC

Despite the fact that DC lost to KKR in Sharjah, captain Rishabh Pant reached a major feat. He overtook Virender Sehwag as the franchise’s top run-scorer. For Delhi, Sehwag amassed 2382 runs in 85 innings. Pant has now scored 2390 runs in 75 innings for the franchise, surpassing the former India opener’s record.

Shreyas Iyer, who led the Delhi Capitals for the previous two seasons, is third on the list with 2291 runs in 82 innings for the team, followed by experienced opener Shikhar Dhawan, who has hammered 1933 runs in only 58 innings.

Ravichandran Ashwin hits back at critics

Also during the match, Ravichandran Ashwin and Eoin Morgan had an argument. After a throw deflected off DC captain Rishabh Pant, Ashwin attempted to take a run. Eoin Morgan expressed his displeasure with Ashwin’s act and got into a heated argument with him.

Shane Warne slammed the veteran off-spinner after the incident, calling what Ravichandran Ashwin did “disgraceful”. The Tamil Nadu-born cricketer responded with a series of tweets where he explained that when he took the overthrow, he didn’t realise that the ball had bounced off Rishabh Pant’s body. However, even if he knew, he had the right to take the overthrow runs, stated Ashwin.

Ashwin said: ā€œDid I fight? No, I stood up for myself and thatā€™s what my teachers and parents taught me to do and pls teach your children to stand up for themselves. In Morgan or Southeeā€™s world of cricket they can choose and stick to what they believe is right or wrong but do not have the right to take a moral high ground and use words that are derogatory.ā€
