Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh applauded Punjab-based all-rounder Harpreet Brar for his amazing performance against Royal Challengers Bangalore last night in the 26th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. With the bat, he contributed 25* from 17 balls and scalped three wickets for just 19 runs in the Punjab Kings’ match against RCB.

The 25-year-old Harpreet Brar quickly removed the likes of RCB skipper Virat Kohli, dynamite batter AB de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell. Brar wrecked the RCB batting line-up from where they never recovered and fell 34 runs short against Punjab Kings. Soon after his all-rounder, Brar grabbed the headlines and received praises from all quarters.

Praising the youngster, Yuvraj Singh said it was the best way to prove one’s potentials in front of the critics. Indeed, Harpreet Brar was living his dream at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium, Ahmedabad on Friday.

“Very happy for @thisisbrar! Getting wickets of some quality batsman and getting useful runs in the end! Also, the best way to your critics when it comes to state cricket!! Well done PCA president, secretary, and @harbhajan_singh in supporting your match winners #PBKSvRCB.”Yuvraj Singh tweeted post the game.

Harpreet Brar, who blended well with their line-up perfectly, anchored Punjab’s win over a sublime RCB. Punjab tried to solve their playing XI quickly as the IPL is now three weeks old. The all-rounder boosted up Punjab’s overall confidence after the massive win yesterday.

Punjab, who has bagged three out of their seven fixtures, are holding the fifth spot in the Points Table with six points in their kitty. Punjab played the ultimate gambit by introducing Brar against RCB. Former cricketer Brett Lee also showered praise on the young all-rounder from Punjab – Harpreet Brar.

“Imagine his friends and family at this moment. Virat Kohli goes out to him to give his congratulations. ‘Thanks for getting me out, don’t get me out again or you won’t play for India’ (laughs). No, just kidding,” Brett Lee said on Star Sports after the match.

“But imagine his parents and his family going – you got out Virat Kohli, fantastic. You got out Maxwell, brilliant. You got ABD! I mean what a game for him. Three massive scalps,” Brett Lee signed off.
