The next edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) will witness two new franchises participating in the tournament, making it a 10-team affair. The cities of Ahmedabad and Lucknow were finalized after an intense bidding process that took place in Dubai on October 25.
RPSG Group, owned by Sanjeev Goenka, who previously had a team in the league is now back. In the 2016 and 2017 editions, the group had bought Pune city’s franchise which had been made to fill in the spaces which were left behind because of the ban which Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals had faced.
