Devastating West Indies all-rounder Rovman Powell has opened up on the chat with Rishabh Pant during the limited-over series between India and West Indies after Delhi Capitals acquired the services of the former. Powell stated that Pant told him he was excited to have the Windies cricketer in the team.
The Delhi Capitals management had their eyes firm on the 28-year-old all-rounder and bagged his services for INR 2.8 crores. Days after being picked by the Delhi franchise, Rovman Powell gave some tough time to the Indian bowlers taking them to cleaners.
Powell, meanwhile, has already completed his quarantine and hit the training grounds. In his first interaction for the franchise, the West Indies all-rounder said:
“It’s been very good to be in the Delhi Capitals camp. I have heard a lot of good things about this franchise. The players have welcomed me with open arms. I had a chat with Rishabh during the T20 series in Kolkata as well. He told me that he is excited to have me in the Delhi Capitals team.”

Looking forward to working with Ricky Ponting – Rovman Powell
The all-rounder further expressed his excitement to work with childhood idol Ricky Ponting, who is the head coach of the Delhi Capitals franchise.
“As a child I watched Ricky Ponting bat a lot. We know the type of leader he was when he captained the Australian team and I think he is the same type of leader as a coach as well. He is really good and, hopefully, I can learn a thing or two from him,” Powell added.
So far, Rovman Powell has played 39 T20Is scoring 619 runs at a strike rate of 138.78 with one hundred and three fifties.
