The all-rounder for Kolkata Knight Riders, Andre Russell, hasn’t spoken a word with his bat during the IPL 2023 season, according to former Indian batter Aakash Chopra. In the first three games for KKR this season, Russell has only managed to score 36 runs.
According to former Indian batter Aakash Chopra, all-rounder Andre Russell of the Kolkata Knight Riders has not spoken with his bat at all during the IPL 2023. Just 36 runs have been scored by Russell in the first three games for KKR this season.
Russell’s bat hasn’t spoken at all this season, according to Chopra, who also lauded KKR’s performances in the IPL 2023. Chopra made these remarks while promoting his Youtube channel. Rinku Singh, a KKR batsman, hit five sixes off the final five balls to help his team defeat the defending champion Gujarat Titans.
“Kolkata is a team that is doing well. They appear to be an unreliable group. Up until this point, Andre Russell’s bat hasn’t said a word. The batting appears to be lacking, but Rinku Singh shows up one day, Venkatesh Iyer shows up the next, and now Nitish Rana has also scored runs,” according to Chopra.
Andre Russell has been going through a poor form
Venkatesh Iyer has batted well in two of the three IPL 2023 games, the speaker continued, and if Russell can contribute some runs, the team’s stature will rise even higher. Iyer scored an 83 against GT in Ahmedabad off just 40 balls, and in their opening game against PBKS off just 35 balls.
“His lineup has been slightly shifted up and down. He might keep batting at No. 3. It might become available or move to No. 4. The team’s stature will suddenly rise even higher if Russell scores run,” Aakash Chopra continued.
After defeating the reigning champions in a historic victory, KKR will now turn their attention to SunRisers Hyderabad, with the two teams scheduled to square off at Eden Gardens. SRH is currently in ninth place in the IPL 2023 points table with just one victory from three matches, while KKR is currently in fourth place with four points.
