IPL 2023: After Virat Kohli’s Century, AB De Villiers Made A Million-Dollar Public Reaction

RCB defeated SRH easily thanks to Virat Kohli’s first IPL century since 2019 in the lineup.

The highlight of a memorable evening for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) was Virat Kohli’s sixth IPL (Indian Premier League) goal.

With an eight-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad in the tense battle for a playoff spot in the 2023 IPL. RCB essentially wrestled control of their destiny into their own hands.

As longtime RCB teammate Virat Kohli breaks the century drought in the IPL, an ‘excited’ AB de Villiers reacts publicly worth a million dollars.

Heinrich Klaasen’s brilliant 104 off 51 balls helped SRH reach 186/5. Faf du Plessis, the captain of the RCB, and Virat Kohli, who opened, ultimately dismantled that target with ease. With Kohli scoring 100 off 63 balls, the duo combined for a 172-run opening stand.

Kohli equalled Chris Gayle’s record for the most centuries in the history of the tournament with his sixth overall and first IPL century since 2019.

Along with ending long-standing century-scoring droughts in Tests and ODIs. Scoring his first-ever T20I century at the 2022 Asia Cup also marks Kohli’s overall return to century-scoring form.

Naturally, a number of former players and commentators expressed their admiration for what Kohli accomplished, with South African batting legend AB de Villiers, Kohli’s former RCB teammate, coming in first.

De Villiers praised former Proteas teammate Du Plessis’s performance. And continued by expressing his excitement for how “hungry” the RCB as a whole appears this season.

De Villiers and Kohli shared a dressing room at RCB for ten years, from 2011 to 2021. He is widely regarded as the best batter to ever play in the IPL.

RCB oddly never won the championship while De Villiers played, despite the pair frequently being a part of some of the most devastating batting lineups ever seen in the tournament.

In the years he played for them, between 2011 and 2016, the team only twice made it to the final. De Villiers amassed 687 runs at 168.79 per cent in the 2016 season. Including one century and six half-centuries.

However, Kohli had a record-breaking season, scoring 973 runs and four centuries in a single season, both records.
