Bhuvneshwar Kumar is likely to captain Sunrisers Hyderabad in their season opener in the IPL 2023 against Rajasthan Royals because Aiden Markram is expected to miss it. Ahead of the mega-tournament, Bhuvneshwar was spotted posing for the all-captain picture.
Since the right-handed batsman will be representing South Africa in the two-match ODI series against the Netherlands. Aiden Markram, who was previously named the Orange Army’s captain, will be in charge of national duties.
The management has chosen to field a full team against the Netherlands because South Africa’s chances of qualifying for the 2022 T20 World Cup are on the line. The Netherlands had previously defeated the Proteas to knock them out of the tournament.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who previously led the team for SRH in Markram’s absence emerges as the obvious choice
In place of the regular skippers, the 33-year-old was spotted leading SRH. Kumar has played as the Hyderabad franchise’s captain for seven games.
Sunrisers Hyderabad will play Rajasthan Royals at their home stadium in Hyderabad in the second-afternoon game of the IPL 2023. The match will be played on April 2. It will feature both teams attempting to record their first victories of the competition.
While Rajasthan Royals will be without their important pacer Prasidh Krishna because he was forced to withdraw from the competition due to injury. Sunrisers will be without the services of Markram. Sandeep Sharma, a seasoned bowler has been called in as Krishna’s replacement. He will be eager to impress his new supporters right away.
The Rajasthan Royals, led by Sanju Samson, will travel to Guwahati on April 5 for their season-opening home game. Markram will return for his team’s second game on April 7 at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium.
It will be interesting to watch whether Bhuvneshwar Kumar can guide his team to victory in its very first encounter against Rajasthan Royals.
