Former CSK Player and Kiwis all-rounder Scott Styris expected MS Dhoni to bat up the order. He was part of the winning CSK side in 2011. In the first match of the IPL 2023, Shivam Dubey came out to bat ahead of MS Dhoni.

Dubey’s batting shifted the momentum slightly towards Gujarat Titans, he smashed only one maximum and failed to utilize the opportunity. Dhoni on the other hand smashed 14 off 7 deliveries with one four and a six.

“He (MS Dhoni) doesn’t play a lot of cricket anymore. He came in straight after Jadeja and we know how good Jadeja has been in the international scene for India. In the next game being the home game, I expect Dhoni to come in front of someone like Shivam Dube,” said Styris on jio cinema

Styris seemed to be unhappy about the fact that Dhoni demoted himself down the order, and why not? Without a doubt, Dhoni should come before in crunch situations like these. The pendulum could’ve swung CSKs way if Dhoni came into bat instead of Shivam Dubey.

A couple of errors here and there to be taken care of and CSK will be back to winning ways. CSK plays Lucknow in the second match, Lucknow will be keen to take forward the winning momentum and CSK will search for the first win. CSK plays at Chepauk after 3 years, their love affair with Chepauk has been something very special.

They have won 40 out of 56 matches at Chepauk. CSKs latest pick in the auction Rajvardhan Hangargekar shined against GT picking up 3 crucial wickets. Chennai picked up Hangargekar for 1.3 cr in the auction. He showed all signs of a regular starter in the XI. MS and his men have a high probability of opening their account at Chepauk. They have a 70+ winning percentage in IPL here in Chepauk.
