It was an IPL final like never before. After rain cancelled the final game on Sunday and then postponed the event until Monday afternoon, it lived up to the hype. The three-day final, however, came down to the final ball of the match, which brought the event to an exciting conclusion.

In order to lead Chennai Super Kings to a record-fifth IPL title against Gujarat Titans. Ravindra Jadeja pulled off a complete miracle with the team needing 10 off 2 against a self-assured Mohit Sharma.

With 13 needed off the final over, Mohit got things going by bowling four straight yorkers. Off those four balls, he only gave up three runs. Gujarat unexpectedly entered the game on an equal footing with Chennai, hoping to become the third team in IPL history to successfully defend the trophy.

When GT thought they had the trophy in hand, Jadeja blasted the following ball, an undercooked Yorker, over long on for a six. Suddenly, there was a great deal of tension among the GT teammates. Hardik Pandya approached Mohit once more, and they engaged in a lengthy conversation.

But nothing changed anything. This time, the right-arm pacer erred in line and length, going for a low full toss on the pads, which Jadeja drifted down past a short fine for a boundary as CSK prevailed by five wickets.

After the victory, RCB star Virat Kohli posted a message for the all-rounder featuring a star-studded cast, and he specifically mentioned CSK captain MS Dhoni.

After CSK won the IPL, Virat Kohli sent Jadeja and MS Dhoni a special message

Jadeja and Dhoni were mentioned in Kohli’s Instagram story that he shared shortly after CSK’s historic victory in Ahmedabad. What a warrior, @ravindra, Jadeja. Congratulations to @mahi7781 and a special mention to @csk”.

Despite being far from India, Kohli kept an eye on what was happening at the Narendra Modi Stadium. As the team prepares for the upcoming World Test Championship final against Australia at The Oval beginning June 7, he and a few of his Indian teammates are currently in London.

While on the team bus on their way back to the hotel following their first day of practice in London, a few members of Team India, including players Mohammed Siraj, R Ashwin, and Axar Patel, along with head coach Rahul Dravid, were seen closely following the game.
